A Different Type of Accountability Program: The Light 56 Principles

Updated: Mar 18

Have you ever started something with enthusiasm and the belief that you would "do it forever"...only to make it a few days, maybe a week?

I know that feeling, not only is it filled with disappointment that you didn't accomplish that goal you set out to achieve, but also failure, shame and frustration. It was with this experience in mind that I developed (& refined) the simple set of principles for Light 56.

So many programs and challenges are driven by being perfect, punishing if you don't do something every day, but Light 56 is a different type of accountability program! It's all about PRACTICING making progress (and not perfection)!

These principles encourage you to keep going, even if you miss a day or two. Your simple ABC habits are designed to set you up for success. Your coach and community of like-minded women help hold you accountable (or help you adjust as necessary) to make sure you see success.

Check out the principles below:

Give grace to yourself & others.

No Judgment. Start with not judging yourself and expand that grace to others.

Gold Stars for days when you do all the ABCs or when you do something that really lights you up!

Have success by setting yourself up to succeed with an anchor that is doable and an easy win for each day.

Say No. Set your anchor boundary and make it non-negotiable.

5,4,3,2,1 Go. Don’t think it, just count down and do it!

Flexibility, if something is not working change it up, just remember your end commitment to yourself to feel lighter in 56 days.

Stack tasks together or use existing habits to build new habits.

Say no. “If we don’t say yes authentically, we say yes resentfully, and that leads to far more problems than if we’d said no in the first place.” – Nat Lue

Give your future-self gifts. If you are struggling to do something in the moment, remember this a gift you are giving your future self.

Or - it doesn’t always have to be and.

Progress not Perfection. A little bit in the right direction is better than nothing at all. If you wait for “perfect” it will never happen.

Gratitude is putting thankful, light, happy energy out into the universe.

Community is key for accountability, inspiration, and cheerleading.

Fun, it’s not just for kids!
